This lamp is super cute and it lights up in several different tones ranging from ultra-cold blue light to a nice warm white. The usb charging ports are very convenient. The controls differ from other similar touch lamps, so please be aware that changing settings on this lamp is not as simple as on some other similar models. If you hold your finger continuously on the base after it's lit, the light will increase to maximum brightness, then decrease to minimal brightness, and then cycle back. That part is pretty cool and my teen daughter had a lot of fun playing around with the touch-dimming feature! It can take several touches/tries to get the lamp set to your preferred color, and sometimes it doesn't remember which color you chose the last time, so you may have to keep touching the base each time you turn it on to reach the desired setting. That's a bit inconvenient, but the lamp is also slow to turn on when the fixture is too cold, so if you keep your house cold in the winter, or you plan to use this lamp in a seasonal vacation home, it may be slow to warm up. Ours had a difficult time turning on until it warmed up, but then it changed between modes/colors and brightness levels pretty easily. I had previously purchased a lookalike lamp from another vendor that has much simpler controls; the other lamp turns on with a simple touch and only has three different brightness levels (rather than the continuous dimming feature of this lamp). Because this lamp can only be turned on by touching the base, it needs to be in an easily reachable location, such as a bedside table, for convenience. The lamp is compact, with a small footprint suitable for small spaces. The uplight feature reduces glare, and the dimmability means that this is an excellent lamp to choose if you dislike bright lights. The lamp comes with a bulb, shade, and base, and is a stylish addition to any modern decor.
